CUCINA ATTIVISTA
(activist kitchen)
A documentary + podcast
Concept
Two female activists and restaurateurs – on opposite sides of the US – fight to keep their businesses alive during the Covid-19 lockdown.
These chefs have to pivot, reinvent their menu and keep their mission for social justice alive.
The documentary highlights women from different backgrounds who are united in their goal to strengthen their community through food.
Cucina Attivista, which translates from Italian to mean “activist kitchen” is a documentary about female activist chefs across the United States. The mission for the project is to amplify lesser-known female chefs and create a platform to share their social impact with a wider audience.
Every participant plays an important role in the future of the culinary landscape. By using their voice to unify communities around a common cause, not only is their food delicious, but it also incites change in society.
